This is a review of the Gskyer 80 mm refractor telescope package. I have owned this scope for a couple of years so I have spent many hours with it. It is one of six scopes that I own.

This is an entry-level 80 mm short focal length refractor telescope package. It includes the optical tube assembly (the telescope), a mount/tripod, three eyepieces, and a 3X Barlow lens. They have also added a frame to hold your smartphone so you can take photos through the eyepiece.

Its simple operation and stable mount give it the potential for being a good first scope. Its compact size and light weight would make it a good “grab and go” or travel scope for someone who has a larger telescope.

However, it has some flaws that I will address later in the article. None of these are very serious but taken as a whole they do create issues to be considered.
